Reverb is a Certified B Corporation®

We spent roughly two years completing an in-depth process, documenting and creating people-friendly policies and operating procedures that have helped us improve our organization, and take even better care of our workers. You might wonder why we put so much time and energy into becoming a B Corp.

I first learned about B Corps in graduate school and became obsessed with the idea that a company can have a double bottom line which includes not only financial profit, doing good in the world. I’m proud that Reverb is known for integrity and flexibility, and achieving this certification is further proof that we go well beyond good intentions.

What is a B Corporation?

B Corporations are leaders in a global movement of people using business as a force for good. There are over 2,200 Certified B Corporations from more than 130 industries in 50+ countries with 1 unifying goal: Redefining what counts as success in business.

B Corps are important because they inspire businesses to compete not only to be the best in the world, but to be the best for the world. Certified B Corporations meet higher standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

From the start,  Reverb has strived to create a healthy, inclusive culture where everyone can thrive. Whether our team members work full time, part time, or on contract, they have rewarding jobs and the flexibility to enjoy rich lives outside of work. Giving back has always been part of our mission, whether that’s supporting local nonprofits or donating to underserved communities. Becoming a B Corp has always been aligned with our mission and values.

What’s Unique About B Corps

The performance standards required of B Corps are comprehensive, transparent, and verified. They measure a company’s impact on all its stakeholders such as workers, suppliers, community, customers, and the environment. Unlike traditional corporations, Certified B Corporations are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their stakeholders, not only their shareholders.

We Care About Our Team, Our Clients, and Our Community

There’s an unrealized opportunity for many businesses and business leaders to have a positive impact on their teams, partners, and community. How you treat people, compensate them, and support their wellbeing have a lasting impact. As a services business, our success is dependent on our team and we strive to treat them accordingly. We similarly encourage our clients to lead with respect and kindness, and help them put equitable practices in place.

This new certification helps Reverb fulfill our mission to create healthy, inclusive workplaces for ourselves and our clients, while donating a portion of our annual profits to ensure a better future for underserved populations.

I want to thank everyone who helped us achieve this certification including our staff, consultants, and community. Your belief in our mission enables Reverb to continue doing important work with a lasting positive impact, creating workplaces that are good for humans.
